NATIONAL OBSERVATORY OF ATHENS

Observations of an occultation by Triton

On October 5th, both the 2.3-meter Aristarchos and 1.2-meter Kryoneri telescopes took part in observations of the occultation of Neptune’s moon Triton, for a campaign led by Dr. Bruno Sicardy and the “Lucky Star” team of the Paris Observatory, France. The RISE2 fast-frame camera on Aristarchos and the NELIOTA fast-frame cameras at Kryoneri were both used successfully to observe the occultation.
