PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Melpomeni Zoka obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management & Agricultural Engineering and her Master of Science degree in Agricultural Science & Engineering from the Agricultural University of Athens in 2018. Following that, in 2020, she earned her second Master of Science degree in Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing from Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. She is currently employed as a Research Associate at the Institute of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications, and Remote Sensing (IAASARS) within the National Observatory of Athens. Her research focuses on utilizing GIS, scripting, and Earth Observation data for Natural Hazards and Soil Monitoring.

Her interests include natural disasters, soil and water resources, land degradation, tree cover loss and river-marine debris.
