PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Kokkalidou Martha completed her undergraduate degree (2020) at the Department of Geology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). In 2022 she received an MSc degree in Natural Hazards and Risk Management from the Department of Geography at University of the Aegean, in collaboration with the Department of Geology at AUTh, the National Observatory of Athens, and the Department of Environment at University of the Aegean. From 2021, Martha has been working as a research associate in the Institute of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IAASARS) of the National Observatory of Athens.

INTERESTS

Natural Hazards, Risk Assessment, Mapping and spatial analysis using GIS and Remote Sensing applications, Earth Observation and Satellite Image Processing, Fire risk modelling, Near real-time satellite data for forest fire detection and fire spread monitoring.
