We regret to inform you that the Visitor Center Reservations website of the National Observatory of Athens (https://tickets.astro.noa.gr) has undergone an attack and was partially compromised.

During the period July 7 19:00 – July 8, 17:00 (Athens [UTC +3] time) the ticket reservation form was replaced by a fake one which included additional fields asking for credit card / cashcard data.

If anyone has entered credit/cash card data in the above fake form, they are strongly advised to immediately block/cancel the credit card entered in the fake ticket reservation form at https://tickets.astro.noa.gr to avoid being subjected to fraud. Affected visitors are also advised to check card transaction history for any unexpected transaction(s).

NOA web services will never request for credit card information. Every web payment transaction is carried out in ePay: a secure banking transaction environment, independent of NOA web applications.

NOA is in close cooperation with Hellenic Police to investigate this case and identify the source of the offense.

For those who have already submitted a reservation or purchase request through the online system and received a confirmation email from the system, the reservation or purchase is valid as usual.
