Anastasia Tsilimidou has graduated from the Department of Physics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she received her M.Sc. in Astrophysics (2024). Her master’s thesis focuses on the production of cosmic rays by blazars. During her professional career she has gained teaching experience tutoring as a physics teacher. At the same time, through a reciprocal scholarship from the National Observatory of Athens for postgraduate students, she worked at the National Observatory of Athens, actively participating in the “Children’s University” program as well as in all the science communication activities of the Thission Visitors’ Centre of the IAASARS/NOA.
INTERESTS
Her research interests are related to high-energy astrophysics and in particular to the study of photohadronic interactions in blazar jets and intergalactic space.
Since April 2023 she is working at the National Observatory of Athens supporting the activities of the Thission Visitors’ Centre, which aims to communicate the science of astronomy to students and the broader public.
