PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Alexis Apostolakis holds an MEng degree from the Electrical Engineer and Computer Engineer (ECE) faculty at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and an MSc in Space Science, Technologies and Applications. He is currently a PhD candidate at ECE NTUA. He has long professional experience in software development and IT from different job positions in large companies and entrepreneurship. From 2017 he works as data scientist engineer and research associate for research programs at the BEYOND unit of IAASARS institute of National Observatory of Athens. His current research work and publications are about exploiting Machine/Deep learning algorithms and implementing pipeline processing for extracting useful information from Earth Observation data for natural hazard events (e.g. future risk prediction, event detection, affected areas).
