PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Konstantinos Koutroumbas received the diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras, Greece, in 1989, the Msc in Advanced Methods in Computer Science from the Queen Mary College of the University of London, U.K., in 1990, and the Ph.D. in Informatics from the homonym department of the University of Athens, Greece, in 1995.

During 1996-1997 he served as Lecturer at the Computer Science Department of the University of Ioannina. From 1997 to 2001 he worked for the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE) as a Computer Science specialist. At 2001 he was elected Assistant Researcher at the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), Greece, while at 2006 he was promoted to the Associate Researcher degree at NOA. In 2011, he was promoted to a Senior Researcher position and in 2018 to a Researcher Director.

RESEARCH
INTERESTS

Pattern Recognition (classification and clustering), neural networks, processing of hyperspectral images, ionospheric data and remote sensing data with pattern recognition techniques.
