PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Panagiotis Sismanidis holds an Engineering Diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineer (2012) and a PhD in Remote Sensing (2018) from the National Technical University in Athens (NTUA). He works at the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens since 2014, where he has participated in several research and civil protection projects funded by the European Commission and the Greek state. During April and May 2018 he was a visiting researcher at the Institute of Geography of the University of Hamburg in Germany and the recipient of two PhD educational grants from the A.G. Leventis Foundation (2016, 2017), one PhD grant from the German Academic Exchange Service (2018) and two awards, one from NTUA (2013) and one from the European Meteorological Society (2016).
