PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ektoras Pouliasis graduated from the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2012 and then in 2015 he completed a two-year Master program in “Astronomy, Astrophysics and Astronomical and Space-based Systems Engineering”, at the Observatory of Paris, in France. In 2020, he completed his Ph.D. in Astrophysics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During the period 2015-2020 as a Ph.D. candidate he worked in the ESA project “Hubble Catalog of Variables”, while from 2020 until now he works as a postdoctoral researcher in the X-ray team of IAASARS within the project AHEAD2020 (HORIZON 2020).

INTERESTS

X-ray astronomy, optical astronomy, Active Galactic Nuclei, AGN optical variability, combination of X-ray and IR methods for the detection of obscured AGN.
