PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Anna Kampouri graduated from the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in the field of “Meteorology, Climatology, and Atmospheric Environment” from the Department of Geology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since February 2019, she has been working as a research fellow at the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications, and Remote Sensing, specializing in atmospheric modeling.

Her PhD research focused on developing advanced methodologies for estimating volcanic source emission rates using inversion techniques.

She also has significant expertise in the operational use of the Lagrangian particle dispersion model FLEXPART and the Advanced Research WRF model, which she employs to study the transport of volcanic ash and wildfire smoke on both regional and global scales.
