Postdoctoral Researchers

Theano Drosoglou graduated from the Physics Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in 2010 and earned her MSc in Atmospheric Physics from the same institution in 2012. She completed her PhD in 2021 with a thesis titled “Ground-based Measurements of Atmospheric Trace Gases Using Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy and Comparisons with Satellite Observations.” During her PhD, she contributed to the development of three ground-based MAX-DOAS systems and the corresponding retrieval methods for atmospheric constituents. She was also involved in satellite validation activities using ground-based passive remote-sensing observations and participated in field campaigns and short-term scientific missions. In recent years, her interests have expanded to data science and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. She has been engaged in AI-driven projects across both research and industry sectors. In 2024, she joined the Multimodal Data Fusion and Analytics Group (M4D) of the Multimedia Knowledge and Social Media Analytics Lab (MKLab) at the Information Technologies Institute, Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (ITI-CERTH), where she contributed to AI-based Earth Observation projects. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher with the ReACT team at the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications, and Remote Sensing (IAASARS) of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA). She has co-authored more than 16 peer-reviewed journal articles (4 as first author), over 8 publications in peer-reviewed conference proceedings (4 as first author), and delivered over 32 presentations at national and international conferences (4 as first author). She has also served as a reviewer for several scientific journals.
