He worked in the laboratory of Remote Sensing of the Dept. of Environmental Studies (University of the Aegean) as a research associate (1994-1997) and from June 1997 to August 1998 in the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement (LSCE/CEA) in the framework of a Marie Curie-Training and Mobility of Researchers grant. After his military service (November 1998-May 2000), he worked as a research associate in the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications & Remote Sensing. In year 2001 he joined IAASARS as a member of the scientific staff of the institute.

RESEARCH
INTERESTS

Aerosol retrievals from passive satellite multispectral and hyperspectral sensors via radiative transfer modelling. Development of dedicated software for data handling, image pre-processing, atmospheric, geometric corrections and for the automazitation of image processing chain. Data processing of big satellite time-series. Other technological domains of interest include particulate mapping and design/implementation of GIS platforms.
