Nicolas Matsopoulos has degrees in Shipbuilding, Natural Sciences (BSc), Science Communication (MSc) and in Education (MEd). During the period 1973-1978 he worked as a volunteer observer at the Astronomical Institute of NOA and in 1979 he joined its permanent staff. From 1995 up until his retirement in 2014 he was in charge of the Visitor Center in Penteli.
