Graduate Students
Vasilis Stamatis earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Ioannina in 2017. The following year, he obtained his MSc in Data Analytics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. After his graduation, he joined the university’s IT department as a researcher. In 2020, he began his work at the International Hellenic University, focusing on information retrieval problems using artificial intelligence. He is currently pursuing his PhD in the Department of Information and Electronic Engineering at the same university. Subsequently, he served as an artificial intelligence engineer and researcher in the private sector. Since January 2024, he has been employed at the IAASARS of the National Observatory of Athens, working on projects related to the application of artificial intelligence in enhancing forest fire detection and forecasting systems.
