Angelos Georgakis received his degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 2021, when he did his internship at the Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development of the National Observatory of Athens. From 2021 to 2022, he worked in the private sector, as Linux system administrator and developing computer vision and object detection algorithms. Since 2022, he has been working on Horizon2020 research projects on data analysis, time series forecasting, and anomaly detection using machine learning models. Since 2024, he has been working as a research associate at the Operational Unit “BEYOND Centre of EO Research & Satellite Remote Sensing”, on issues related to the propagation, forecasting, and modeling of solar radiation and the corresponding energy produced.
Meanwhile, in 2025, he successfully graduated from the master’s program “Space Technologies, Applications and Services’ (STAR) at the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, and began studying as a PhD candidate at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, on topics related to deep learning for the analysis of large atmospheric and satellite data.
