NELIOTA camera first light
The new Andor Zyla scientific CMOS fast-frame camera for the NELIOTA project, funded by ESA, saw first light on October 20th. NELIOTA team members connected the state-of-the-art camera to the 62.5 cm Newall telescope in Penteli to obtain the first images of the Moon and other astronomical objects. The camera will be installed on the 1.2 m Kryoneri telescope in the Spring 2016, when the telescope retrofit and upgrade is completed by DFM Engineering, Inc.
