New PhD scholarship at IAASARS/NOA
The Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications & Remote Sensing (IAASARS) at the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) is advertising a one year scholarship aimed at students currently undertaking a PhD in Οbservational Αstronomy, Space Science or any related field. The scholarship starts at April 2017. The selected candidate will work on the Science Archives Publication System (SAPS) project and will be responsible for the ingestion of new scientific publications into the system, test the system performance and efficiency, verify the consistency of the publications meta-data built by SAPS and report bugs and malfunctions. Knowledge of the structure of the observational data from European Space Agency (ESA) science missions and experience in their analysis, familiarity with the use of the Astrophysics Data System (ADS) and good knowledge of English language are considered prerequisites.
