PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Vassilis Spyrakos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and an M.Sc. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, completing his graduate studies in 2020. His primary interests lie in science communication and data analysis within his specialized fields.

Vassilis has extensive experience as a physics and programming tutor. From 2018 to 2024, he served as a Science Communication Officer at the Thissio Visitor Center of the National Observatory of Athens. In this role, he led guided tours for schools and the general public at the Geoastrophysics Museum and conducted telescope observations with the Doridis telescope. He organized and participated in educational activities tailored for preschool and elementary school children, focusing on public outreach in Astronomy and Space Physics.

Since January 2025, Vassilis has been a member of the ReACT Team at the National Observatory of Athens, where he works as a science communicator and social media content creator. His responsibilities include analyzing and visualizing data to convey information about Greece’s climate, air quality, and atmospheric composition to diverse audiences and the general public. He authors bulletins, articles, and other content to highlight how these environmental factors impact daily life.
