PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Konstantinos Statheropoulos holds a Diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering – Geoinformatics (NTUA, 2023) and an MSc in Geoinformatics (NTUA, 2025). His research includes the spatial analysis of the EU energy landscape and the development of a web-based geospatial energy analysis application.

He has worked at Geomatics SA (2D/3D digitization, DEM processing), NTUA (3D monument reconstruction), and HEDNO S.A. (GIS Survey Engineer, 2024–2025) on LiDAR, GNSS, and drone surveys, 3D modeling, and project support. Since 2025, he has been a member of the Operational Unit “BEYOND Centre of EO Research & Satellite Remote Sensing”, focusing on satellite remote sensing, AI/ML applications, and early warning systems for wildfire detection.

He has strong expertise in GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS), databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS), programming (Python, R, JavaScript), photogrammetry, and web application development. He is a certified drone pilot (A1–A3 & A2) and Renewable Energy Specialist. He has participated in competitions (NASA Space Apps Challenge), conferences, and seminars, aiming to bridge geoinformatics, energy, and sustainable development.

RESEARCH
INTERESTS

His research interests focus on geoinformatics and remote sensing, with applications in energy data analysis and visualization, the development of web-based geospatial analysis applications, as well as mapping and modeling using UAV, LiDAR, and GNSS. He places particular emphasis on the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for pattern detection in geospatial data, supporting early warning systems and disaster monitoring, with the ultimate goal of promoting smart and sustainable solutions.
