Alexandros Konis received his diploma degree in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in 2013, with specialization in Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering. In 2017 he completed the MSc “Hydro Science and Engineering” at the Dresden University of Technology in Germany. He has many years of working experience in Greece and the UK in Flood Risk Assessment studies, the use of Hydrological and Hydraulic Modelling software, the Design of hydraulic structures and Geographical Information Systems. Since 2024, he has been working as a researcher associate at the Operational Unit “BEYOND Centre of EO Research & Satellite Remote Sensing”, focusing on flood hazard and risk management, and hydrological and hydraulic analysis of river basins.
INTERESTS
Optimisation and automation of hydrological and hydraulic simulations of river basins, development of operational flood early warning systems, analysis of geospatial data, Integration of remote sensing satellite data in flood analysis.
