Evangelos Gkiokas received his B.Sc. in Physics in 2013 from the University of Crete. His undergraduate thesis focused on the detection and analysis of X-ray sources in the galaxy NGC 3310. In 2015, he completed his M.Sc. in the sector of Astrophysics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). His master’s thesis, conducted in collaboration with the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), was entitled “Study of the X-ray spectra of type 2 Active Galactic Nuclei using the SWIFT satellite.” After completing his studies, he worked in the private sector. Since 2025, he has been a member of the supporting scientific staff at the National Observatory of Athens, working as an observational astronomer at the Kryoneri Observatory within the framework of the EU-SST project.
