PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Andreas Karipis is a physicist specializing in satellite technology and space science. He completed his bachelor’s degree in physics at the University of Athens in 2021. During this period of his studies, he had the opportunity to join the Observatory of Torun, Poland, where his research focused on Diffuse Interstellar Bands. Pursuing his interest in space technology and satellites, he completed his MSc in “Space Technology, Applications & Services” at the University of Athens in 2023. That same year, he was selected for the European Space Agency’s internship program, where he conducted meteor research focusing on ablation, spectral analysis, and data validation at ESA’s Space Technology Centre (ESTEC) in the Netherlands. Since 2024, he has been a member of the ReaCT team at ISAARS, working on calibration & validation activities for ESA’s EarthCARE satellite mission. His research interests include satellite technology, remote sensing, data validation, and spectroscopic studies of atmospheric and astronomical phenomena, particularly meteors and interstellar dust clouds.
