Thanassis Askitopoulos received his B.Sc. degree from the Electrical and Computer Engineering department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a specialization in Telecommunications in 2024 and joined the M.Sc program “Data Science and Information Technologies (DSIT)” of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
As a member of the Operational Unit “BEYOND Centre of EO Research & Satellite Remote Sensing”, and specifically the Agrihub team, he works on creating maps of organic matter in cultivated land by combining in-situ measurements and satellite observations as input data for Deep Learning algorithms and spatial machine learning.

His current interests lie in the areas of Machine learning, Deep Learning and Optimization theory for Earth Observation and Agricultural Monitoring applications.
