PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Konstantinos Alexis received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece in 2017 and his M.Sc. degree in Data Science from the Athens University of Economics and Business, in 2018. He is currently working toward his Ph.D. degree at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where his research focuses on deep learning for image understanding.
He is currently a Scientific Associate with the Operational Unit “BEYOND Centre of EO Research & Satellite Remote Sensing” of the National Observatory of Athens, while he has also collaborated with the Athena Research and Innovation Center. His current work is centered around foundation models and representation learning under noisy data, with an emphasis on earth observation applications. In particular, his interests span self-supervised, unsupervised, and generative learning, as well as learning under limited annotated data regimes, aiming to bridge the gap between large-scale pretraining and label-efficient adaptation.
