George Koutsos is a Civil Engineer (Diploma, 2021) from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and holds an M.Sc. in Water Resources Science and Technology from NTUA (2024). He has professional experience in flood protection studies, water resources management, and hydraulic works. He served as a research associate in the Department of Water Resources and Environment at NTUA, focusing on the development of machine learning methods for hydrological and hydraulic applications. Since 2026, he has been supporting research activities at the Operational Unit “BEYOND – Center of Earth Observation Research and Satellite Remote Sensing” of IAASARS at the National Observatory of Athens.
INTERESTS
Artificial intelligence and the development of advanced machine learning models, stochastic simulation, large-sample hydrology, remote sensing and Earth Observation data, development and optimization of flood early warning systems.
