Scientific Data Analyst | Spectral & Satellite Data Processing
Lydia Markopoulioti is a physicist specializing in spectral analysis and scientific data processing. She completed her bachelor’s degree in physics at the University of Crete, where her undergraduate research focused on polarimetric data and included hands-on observational work at Skinakas Observatory. She continued her studies at the University of Crete, earning an MSc in Advanced Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics, with postgraduate research centered on the spectroscopic analysis of Luminous Infrared Galaxies. As part of her research training, she contributed to projects related to the James Webb Space Telescope and completed an internship at the Center of Astrobiology in Madrid, participating in international collaborations in astrophysics and astrochemistry.
She is currently a member of the ReACT team at the Institute of Astrophysics, where she works on satellite-derived atmospheric data within the LIVAS project, focusing on the processing, validation, and analysis of spectroscopic and remote sensing data for atmospheric applications.
INTERESTS
Her research interests include spectral analysis, satellite data processing, and remote sensing.
Beyond science, she enjoys hiking and outdoor activities, painting, and reading.
