ΕΘΝΙΚΟ ΑΣΤΕΡΟΣΚΟΠΕΙΟ ΑΘΗΝΩΝ Ο Δρ. Γεώργιος Μπαλάσης, Δ/ντης Ερευνών του ΙΑΑΔΕΤ επιλέχθηκε μέλος της Επιστημονικής Επιτροπής του συνεδρίου της ESA που αφορά την επέτειο των 10 ετών της προσφοράς των δορυφόρων Swarm στην επιστήμη των σχέσεων Ηλίου – Γης.
Το 10th Anniversary & Science Conference 2024 θα πραγματοποιηθεί 08-12 Απριλίου στην Κοπεγχάγη.
Dr. George Balasis, Research Director of IAASARS/NOA and President of the Scientific Council of IAASARS, has joined the Scientific Committee of the ESA Swarm 10th Anniversary & Science Conference 2024 that will be held between 08 and 12 April 2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark:

The aim of this conference organized by the European Space Agency is to engage a wide community with expertise from Earth’s deep interior to small-scale high-energy ionosphere events and magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling, with an eye to the many new applications beyond the scope of the original objectives of the Swarm mission.
ESA’s three-satellite Swarm mission is dedicated to unravelling one of the most mysterious aspects of our planet: the magnetic field. Although invisible, the magnetic field and electric currents in and around Earth generate complex forces that have immeasurable impact on everyday life. By analysing the different characteristics of the observed field, Swarm leads to new insight into many natural processes, from those occurring deep inside the planet to weather in space caused by solar activity.
