John Alikakos obtained his B.Sc. in Physics in 2002, his M.Sc in Sciences of Environmental, Earth and Space in 2004 and his Ph.D. in 2011 in Observational Astrophysics with thesis title “Detection and study Supernova Remnants and Intergalactic Dust” from the University of Patras in collaboration with the National Observatory of Athens (NOA). From 2009 he has working as support astronomer of the “Aristarchos” telescope at Helmos Observatory of the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications & Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens.
INTERESTS
Multi-Wavelength studies of Supernova Remnants (SNRs) and the interaction with the Interstellar medium. Investigation of the physical properties of very cold dust in the Intergalactic Medium. Study of the properties of Cataclysmic Variables Stars (CV).
