Alexia Tsouni holds a BSc in Civil Engineering, a MsC in Water Engineering and a MsC in Water Resources Science and Technology, all from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She is now a PhD student in Floods in the NTUA, under the supervision of Dr. Koutsoyiannis and Dr. Kontoes. She has worked in the Laboratory of Hydrology and Water Resources Management at the NTUA as a member of the research team for EUROHARP (Towards European Harmonised Procedures for Quantification of Nutrient Losses from Diffuse Sources) and HARMONIQUA (Harmonising Quality Assurance in Model Based Catchment and River Basin Management) projects. She has also worked on climate forecasting models for improving forecasting of atmospheric and climatic parameters in regional and local scale in the Eastern Mediterranean region in the Institute of Environmental Research and Sustainable Development at the National Observatory of Athens (NOA). Since 2006 she has been working on research projects in the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing at the NOA (LIMES, RISK-EOS, SAFER and currently BEYOND).

Remote sensing applications in the fields of hydrology, hydraulics, environment and civil protection.
