Elena Nikolaeva obtained her BSc and MSc (Applied Electrodynamics) in Physics from the State University of Tbilisi (Georgia) in 2002 and 2004 respectively. She obtained her PhD in Geophysics (February 2014) from the University of Potsdam (Germany). From 2000-2005 she worked in the Laboratory of Applied Electrodynamics of the State University of Tbilisi as a developer of numerical models of physical processes. From 2005-2009 she processed and analyzed multispectral remote sensing images in the Seismic Monitoring Centre, Georgia. From 2009-2014 she worked as an associated researcher in the Helmholtz-Centre Potsdam - GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences.

  Research Interests 

Remote sensing, multispectral imaging, optical/SAR sensors, development and application of satellite image processing, geology, natural hazard, landslide, earthquake, land use, ground deformation, numerical and analytical modeling.
