Giampouras Paris   Postdoctoral Researcher    Telephone: 2108109189 Office: 218 e-mail: parisg@noa.gr     Research Interests

Paris Giampouras received the Diploma degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens. In 2014, he obtained the MSc. degree in information technologies in medicine and biology and in July 2018 the PhD degree from the University of Athens. His PhD thesis is entitled "Nonconvex Optimization Algorithms for Structured Matrix Estimation in Large-scale data applications".Paris Giampouras is affiliated with the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Remote Sensing and Space Applications of the National Observatory of Athens since 2013 working under the supervision of Dr. Athanasios Rontogiannis and Dr. Konstantinos Koutroumbas.

  Interests and Responsibilities

His research interests lie in the fields of Signal Processing and Machine Learning. More specifically, he focuses on devising efficient algorithms for processing large scale/high dimensional datasets such as hyperspectral images with the aim to extract the derived knowledge leveraging inherent structures of data such as sparsity, structured sparsity, low-rank etc.
