Panagiotis Gavras obtained his B.Sc in Physics on 2001 from the Physics Department of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and his M.Sc in Astrophysics, Astronomy and Mechanics on 2004 from the same institute. On 2010 he obtained his Ph.D. in astronomy from the Physics Department of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens in collaboration with the National Observatory of Athens with dissertation title "Study of double and multiple stars of very large period". In the beginning of 2011 he moved to Observatoire de Paris, Meudon where he worked for two years on the preparation of the data reduction pipeline of double and multiple stars observations from the space mission Gaia. After that he moved to the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens where he worked for Gaia as well on the ExSciGaia project. Since March 2015 he works at the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications & Remote Sensing of the National Observatory of Athens.

Double and multiple stars, Variable stars, Image reconstruction technics, Instrumentation, Simulations, Astronomical software development.
