Welcome to the Website of the Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics

The Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IAASARS)
is one of the three institutes of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA),
the oldest research centre in Greece.

The former Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (IAA) was merged with the former Institute for Space Applications and Remote Sensing in March 2012. This is the former IAA website, until our new website is created.

Research areas of the IAA range from Solar Physics to Cosmology.
The IAA also runs the 2.3 m Aristarchos telescope at Helmos Observatory and the 1.2 m telescope at Kryoneri Observatory.
