Applying for time

Call for proposals:

The next proposal deadline will be announced.

In order to apply for time please fill the form given bellow

Proposal Form: (tex format) (pdf format)

(For technical reasons the MES-AT spectrometer and the VEC camera are not available at the moment).

How to apply:

Applications for observation time can only be submitted via e-mail. The address for the submission is: proposal, then the "at" symbol and our domain name (astro.noa.gr). The e-mail sent should not exceed the 10 MB (please note that when binary files are included as attachments with the MIME format, there size increases significantly) and the subject of the e-mail should be "proposal". Questions related to submitting a telescope proposal can be asked to the same e-mail address by specifying "question" as a subject.

Should your application be larger than the e-mail limit, please replace the larger figures with URL links that point to those figures. The proposal will be sent to the relevant TAC as sent by the applicant, with the link to the URL included and it will be the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the file will be easily accessible by the TAC members.

Who can apply:

Anyboby regardless of nationality, affiliation, or status can apply.

Time allocation criteria :

All proposals are judged and ranked solely on the basis of scientific merit by our International TAC. The ranking is then sent to our Local TAC which decides which applications are accepted purely on the base of ranking from the International TAC and guaranteed time agreements and scheduling constrains.

Running costs (including accomodation, transportation and nutrition) calculated on a per night basis for the first observing period sum up to 500 euro. It is the applicants' responsibility to meet these costs.

The Aristarchos telescope is a member of the opticon project. Applicants that are eligible for OPTICON funding should indicate it in their proposal.
